EXHIBIT ON LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION
This exhibit visualizes the interaction of substantial and constructional lightweight materials. A sandwich construction aesthetically derived from lightweight materials becomes a three-dimensional object filled with a lightweight frame construction. Because lightweight construction exists primarily in an object’s interior structure, a simple rectangular exterior form was chosen. To emphasize this, the exterior of the exhibit was left plain white, while the interior elements were given an eye-catching colour. Certain parts of the structure can be taken out by the visitor to analyse for themselves, directly engaging them in themes surrounding lightweight construction. Over three interactive stations, visitors are able to get a deeper insight into the essential elements of the topic.
